    Dear Parents,

I cannot believe it is May half term already! It has been an incredibly busy few weeks with great focus on learning as well as so many enrichment activities taking place.

As I mentioned on Facebook, Monday was such a highlight at Warren Lodge; as I arrived to pick the children up the room was full of fun, smiles and care. I have displayed a poster with information about a Summer party at Warren Lodge which some children may enjoy taking you to.

On Tuesday this week I had the pleasure of attending a Diocese Conference; it was a great opportunity to meet with other schools from across the Oxford Diocese as well as to hear some inspirational speakers.

Since my appointment as Headteacher I have been working with the Governors to restructure our staffing. I am delighted to inform you that from 4th June Mrs Wirth will no longer be Keystage 2 Leader; she will be working across the school as Senior Leader with responsibility for our curriculum. Mrs Leen will be our Pastoral Care and SEND Leader. This is a structure which I envisage having an incredibly positive impact on pupils, families, and staff; after the half term break I will share more information about their roles.

As the Key Stage 2 tests came to an end the Year 2 children began to complete their 'booklets'! They have enjoyed doing them and it has been wonderful to see the progress they have made. The writing SATs assessments continue after half term for both Key Stage 1 and 2 and we would be grateful for your support with home learning over half term. The Phonics screening for Year 1 children take place in the middle of June; continued support at home can have a big impact on this.

With a Football tournament today, Bikeability for Year 6 and an allotment trip for Chaffinch it has been so busy and this has not been made easier by having no tables for 3 days in Chaffinch and Goldfinch. On Tuesday the old tables and chairs were collected by a Education and Health charity; they provide educational supplies and health support to children in Sierra Leone. The children and staff helped to load up the furniture and the pride in giving them to such a worthy cause was great to see. Our scheduled delivery for the new tables was then delayed until Friday!! I would like to thank the children and staff for making the most of the empty classrooms and for making the situation work for the children. Today the new tables arrived and look wonderful. Thank you FOFSA.

I would like to wish you all a wonderful half term break and I look forward to seeing you on 4th June.

Many thanks to all staff for their hard work and dedication and for your continued support.

    Dear Parents,

We began this week with our Year 6 children commencing their SATs.  We are very proud of how calm and smiley they were.  They were focused and determined to do their best.  I would like to thank all staff for their support in ensuring the week ran smoothly and it has been great to have Mrs Coulson in working with the Year 5 children.  As a treat the Year 6 children had an ice cream on Thursday and I would like to thank Adele Baker for providing freezer space and then delivery of the ice creams.

We had a wonderful day today celebrating the Royal Wedding.  The food provided was wonderful and the children had a great time.  According to Jude in Year 2, "the best day of school ever!"  The children were in their colour groups which mixes them up across all year groups and all the activities were based around our values of Hope, Honesty, Friendship and Thankfulness.

I think the photos say it all and I uploaded all of them, enjoy.

    Wishing you a lovely weekend

    Dear Parents,

I hope you all had a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend; we were so lucky with the weather.

On Thursday Mrs Dodds, Mr and Mrs Fox led the school for our Ascension Day walk. This is always such a special occasion. The older children looking after and helping the younger children as we walk to and from church is lovely to see. The prayers the children wrote together are very thoughtful and bring together our school values.

Next week we will be celebrating the Royal Wedding on Friday. The children will be working in their colour teams and there will again be a focus on how our school values match those of marriage and commitment. We will end the afternoon with a small party for the children.

Next week is SATs week for our Year 6 children. I have spoken to them today to reiterate how proud we are of them and of their hard work. I wish for them all to have a relaxing weekend and we have lots of plans for next week to make it as stress-free as possible.

I would like to finish my newsletter with the exciting news that Philippa Hanna is making a Finchampstead come back!! Mr and Mrs Fox have organised for Philippa to come in for an assembly on 20th June. Philippa Hanna is a famous Christian singer and she has been very inspirational for many of our children. Thank you Mr and Mrs Fox, I can't wait! Philippa Hannah is also performing in Camberley the week before on the 14th June so you may want to look at purchasing tickets for that.

Wishing you all a relaxing weekend

    Dear Parents,

It has been a very busy week in school. I am so pleased the warmer weather is back. On Wednesday we were able to go ahead with our whole school and class photos; we finished just in time before the rain started.

On Thursday this week Mrs Gan and Mrs Coulson took a group of choir children to the Memorial hall. The WI were celebrating their 100th birthday and our children had the pleasure of providing some of their entertainment. They sang beautifully and enjoyed being part of such a special occasion.

The sponsorship money coming in for the FOFSA walks has been incredible. I do not have a final total but I am so excited to share that we are close to having raised £5000!!! A final total will be announced next week. Please return any completed sponsor forms to the office.

Keith Thomas has been elected as our new parent governor and I look forward to welcoming him onto the board of governors at our next meeting.

I would like to wish you all a lovely Bank Holiday weekend and look forward to seeing you all next week.

    With kind regards
