Welcome
Welcome to
Finchampstead Primary School
On behalf of the children, staff and governors I would like to welcome you to Finchampstead Church of England (Aided) Primary School.
Choosing the right school for your child is a very important decision, and I am confident that Finchampstead School offers an enriching, high-quality education in a caring, welcoming Christian environment where your child will be nurtured and encouraged to achieve high standards in all aspects of their development.
Finchampstead Primary School is a small, friendly village school set in the heart of Finchampstead village. We are committed to providing a caring, supportive environment for our pupils to learn in, and the personal well-being of all of our pupils is at the heart of everything that we do. We are extremely proud to have been graded as Good for all aspects of our practice from both Ofsted and our Anglican Church Inspection.
For such a small school we have excellent facilities including a spacious school hall, computer suite, children’s kitchen, well stocked library and interactive whiteboards in every classroom. Our playground has a wide range of activities including a ball court, a gazebo for quiet times, a stage for drama, and a traversing wall. We are fortunate to be situated in such a beautiful spot in the village and we make full use of the field across the road for running, sport and in other areas of learning. A short walk to the church leads us to their wonderful gardens which we use during many of our nurture and wellbeing sessions.
We believe that it is important that children experience the joy of learning, and the enthusiastic, dedicated team of staff are always working hard to provide a broad, balanced and challenging curriculum that is enriched with exciting learning opportunities, meeting the personal needs of all learners.
Our links with St James’ Church are strong, and we visit the church each term for worship and celebrations. This partnership is very special to us, and parents and carers are encouraged to join us whenever we go to church.
We believe that the partnership between school and home is an important part of a child’s development and we have an open door policy where parents are encouraged to come into school to talk about their child’s progress and development whenever they feel it is necessary. We know that children are happiest when home and school work together for their benefit and many opportunities will arise for you to be involved in the life of Finchampstead Primary School during your child’s time with us.
You are very welcome to visit our school – the children and I are always pleased and proud to show visitors around. I look forward to welcoming you to Finchampstead Primary School and working with you and your child in the future.
Yours sincerely
Mrs Jacquie Vanstone
