    Dear Parents,

It is hard to believe that it is Half Term already; the weeks have flown by!  It has been a pleasure to spend a lot of time this week in the Classrooms.

On Wednesday, Chaffinch went to Wellington College for a Harvest Celebration; it was a rather wet but a thoroughly enjoyable day.  Goldfinch are now looking forward to their visit to Wellington College for a Chemistry Extravaganza; these opportunities are wonderful for our children to learn from. I would like to thank all those who have helped with transport.

This afternoon the boys will be hopefully winning their league football match against The Coombes; I will add an update if we do!!

The success of the cake sale and Bag2School collection at £326.40 is incredible.  FOSFA are already working very hard in preparation for the Christmas Fayre.

I am delighted to say that we have picked the 6 winning numbers on the Beehive 100 Square.  Well done to: Mrs Hayes, Mrs Thomas, Mrs Bell, Mrs McDowall, Mrs Prevost-Snell and Mrs Faull.  The prize is for one afterschool Beehive session to be booked directly through Beehive.

We hope many families will join the Church Lantern Parade at 5.30pm on Saturday.

I would like to wish you all a very happy Half Term break and again thank you for your support this Half Term.

    Many thanks

    Dear Parents,

It has been such an exciting week and I hope you have found the updates on Facebook both enjoyable and useful.

The Year 6 children have had a wonderful week at PGL in Liddington.  They have had the opportunity to challenge themselves and develop their friendships through  team building activities.  Mrs Weston and I visited on Wednesday evening and the children were full of their experiences and stories!  We look forward to hearing more next week.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Anders, Mrs Wirth and Mr Fisher for taking such wonderful care of the children; we are incredibly grateful.

I have had great fun with the Year 5 children this week.  Their learning has centred around an Ikea project.  They have worked with both accuracy and creativity, they have produced some wonderful writing and it has been a pleasure.

Chaffinch had a visit from a lady called Sandra Pullen to support their learning on Rivers.  The children listened beautifully and were so fasinated by her knowledge and experience.

Today Mr O'Reilly has returned to school; as you will see from the photograph the children were delighted to see him!

    Dear Parents,

It has been a pleasure being able to chat to so many of you at our Learning Review meetings this week and I have been visited by so many children for stickers for their focused, hard work.

We enjoyed our Harvest Church Service on Tuesday and the walk back to school was lovely with the Goldfinch children taking great care of their Reception Buddies.

Thursday was such a busy day! With Prospective Parents visiting, some of Goldfinch had the opportunity to show people around our school.  The feedback was incredible and they were praised for the pride they show and the manner in which they undertook the tours.  We are very proud of them.

After school nine Chaffinch children represented the school in a Reddam Football Tournament.  They were so keen and excited! They drew one match but lost the others.  It was a pleasure to accompany them and I was delighted to be relieved of my refereeing and manager duties when Mr Baker and Mr Bell stepped up and offered their help.  We are missing Mr O'Reilly but he is hoping to be back soon.

We have finished the week celebrating our Founders Day.  We had a beautiful assembly led by Mr and Mrs Fox.  The children were all given a dafodil bulb to plant in the school grounds as a mark of thanks for our school and it's Founder Sir John Walter.

I wish you all a wonderful and relaxing weekend.  We do hope to see lots of you at our Grounds Day on Saturday (2pm-4pm).  If you are able to come please bring any tools including a step ladder if you are able to!

    Many thanks
