    Dear Parents,

I am unsure where September has gone yet delighted with all that we have already achieved this term.

Today our new conservatory was finished; it is hard to express my gratitude to the Barley family and all at Nirvana Spa but I will save that for our big opening which we will now organise.  Please feel free to come and have a look during our Learning review evenings.

I continue to work with the company on the front of school and I will update you as soon as I know the next steps that will be taken to ensure we achieve a high quality finish.  I have been concerned this week by further parking issues coming to light but I was pleased to see our Community Police Officers at drop off on Wednesday following my email to them the previous week.  I would like to thank all parents who park appropriately and with consideration of our neighbours.  I urge you to park in the Greyhound pub carpark; this can often be quicker than trying to negotiate parking on the road anyway.

On Tuesday and Wednesday this week the Key Stage One teachers attended a training course for Phonics called Read Write Inc.  The scheme will be delivered from Reception and we are excited about the impact it should have on phonics, reading and in turn writing.  FOFSA will be supporting school by funding new resources for the scheme.  This week FOFSA has also paid for the online subscription for Power Maths to accompany our new Maths books.  The impact this will have on teacher workload and wellbeing is tremendous and the interactive resources will be engaging and clear for the children.  Thank you FOFSA.

On Friday Mrs Dodds led our Macmillan coffee morning which looked fantastic, I was sad not to be there but it raised an impressive £85.  Thank you Mrs Dodds and thank you to those parents who supported either or both the coffee morning/cake sale.

The diary is filling up with so many opportunities for enriched learning; I know many letters have gone home this week.

Our focus on learning reviews next week will be your child's learning behaviours and I look forward to seeing you in school.  I am available both evenings if you wish to make an appointment to meet with me.

    With kind regards

    Dear Parents,

It has been a pleasure to catch up with you over the past week.  Thank you to all those parents who attended the Information Evening; we hope you found it useful.  Our school has been improved so much over the summer and this has been enhanced by the wonderful classroom displays; they support learning, learning behaviours and they certainly add to the excitement of learning.

The children have settled back in so quickly, with Goldfinch clearly stepping up to their role within school; it is great to see.  Mrs Wirth and I carried out the Prefect interviews on Wednesday; we both felt very proud of the Year 6 and I can already see that they are committed to the role.  Our Reception children have settled into school routines and I have enjoyed watching them in the classroom and on the playground.  The Rosefinch staff have worked so hard to ensure they have had a smooth transition and I have loved getting to know them all.

The conservatory building work is near completion with plastering, painting and flooring planned for next week.  We will be having a celebratory opening in October and more information will follow.  The work at the front of school has been more problematic and I am sure you have seen me inspecting the fencing on numerous occasions!  Unfortunately the fencing will be coming down on Monday afternoon to be replaced with Heras fencing for a few days until new fencing can be installed.  I am sorry for the inconvenience but it is essential that we have high expectations and are happy.  I will keep you updated and ensure that access is safe.  I thank you again for your patience.

I am looking forward to spending more time in the classrooms next week. I wish you all a lovely weekend.
