Dear Parents,
It was wonderful to begin Monday morning seeing the children so smart in their correct uniforms; thank you for your support. On Monday in our assembly we discussed 'It's okay, not to be okay'. This has been reflected upon throughout the week and it was great to see a lot of children wearing something inside out on Wednesday to celebrate Mental Health Awareness week and the message that it is good to share the feelings we have hidden on the inside.
Goldfinch and Chaffinch have been introduced to a new Music initative which they were very excited about on Thursday. The juniors will begin learning an instrument with Mrs Gan; Goldfinch will learn the Ukulele and Chaffinch the Recorder. A letter has gone out with the children today about taking the instruments home. This development in our music provision has been led by Mrs Gan and I thank her for leading music with such passion.
School Council were very excited today to see the foodbank bags collected; the men who came were blown away by the amount of food donated and our children were certainly very proud. It has been lovely to have more space in school this afternoon but on Monday we are hoping to have lots of Bags2School bags. You can bring things in any bag; it is a great opportunity to have a clear out and raise money for school at the same time.
I would like to finish my newsletter by directing you to a letter that was sent out today from Mrs Dodds regarding her new role in school. I am sure you will see the extensive benefits the role will bring to the school. Having spent a week reflecting on the importance of caring for our mental health; I am excited to see the ongoing impact the new role will have on wellbeing, provision and learning.
Wishing you a lovely weekend
