21st June 2024
Good afternoon,
It has been lovely to have a sunny week for our learning and play. We were not as fortunate to have such weather last weekend at the Summer fete. Despite this, it was such a success. It was great to see so many families supporting the school and our village. For me, it was special to see lots of families who left the school many years ago but have come back as well as seeing our new Reception children and families for September becoming part of our community. I hope the FOFSA committee feel very proud to organise such a fun, successful fete which has hopefully raised lots of money for our children. Thank you FOFSA.
Today, I have emailed a staffing letter for September and on Monday I will share the classes for our current Reception children. Whilst our learning is of course continuing as normal, we are doing lots of transition as well. Half of Reception enjoyed their ECO club time with Mrs Dodds and Mrs Paterson. A small group of Year 4s and 5s carried out some training to support them in delivering class assemblies. We received lovely compliments of how deeply they reflected and how extensive their knowledge is. The Year 6 children who are going to Bohunt also had a visit from a member of staff.
Next week we have our new Reception parents in for a parent meeting at 7pm on Monday.
On Tuesday, our governors will be in school for the day. We have a full day of training which is valuable time we have each year.
On Friday, the club is for Year 6 rounders and I will email out the link on Monday. I will also email a link to sign up to help at Sports day. We are always looking for keen volunteers to help with scoring, stickers, the finish line and also if you have a gazebo we could borrow!
Finally, I just wanted to remind you all to check your child is wearing the correct uniform and PE kit. We have become of aware that some children are not and we will be sending letters home offering support if this is the case.
I wish you all a lovely weekend.
With kind regards
Jacquie Vanstone
