News update

Good afternoon

I hope you are all well and enjoying the sunshine today.

We have had a lovely week in school.  It has been wonderful to see the children so engaged in their learning.  I have spent more time in classrooms which has been such a pleasure.  The children are settled, happy and already used to their new routines and working hard.

A highlight this week was our Reading Buddy time which we haven't done for many years and I think the few photos I have attached show the value and impact.  It is a special time for our oldest and youngest to be together reading.

We look forward to welcoming parents to meet with staff next week to discuss the summer term targets and their learning behaviours this term.  The meetings will take place in the hall.  Print outs of our Relationships policy, Attendance policy and Behaviour policy will be available for you.  We will also be asking you to sign our Home School Agreement.

I am excited to say that the new drain needed for Rosefinch will but put in next week.  I will confirm on Monday when the work will begin but we are hoping it will be on Wednesday.  It is likely the work will take a week.  During this time we will need to use the front of school for drop off and dismissal.  I will share more information once I have confirmation from Cala Homes.  It will be fantastic for Rosefinch to have the toilets to use within the classroom, something I never thought we would achieve.

An email was sent home today regarding clubs which I hope was helpful.  If you have any questions, please be in touch.

With parent meetings on Wednesday and Thursday, a coffee morning and our first football match on Friday, I look forward to seeing many of you.

I wish you a lovely weekend

Jacquie Vanstone
