26th September 2025
Good afternoon,
It is hard to believe we are almost at the end of September. This week we have been challenged in so many ways due to the drain work. I would like to thank you all for your patience and to the staff and children for adapting to a wide variety of changes! The work is almost complete. On Monday morning, we will have our drop off at the front again and then Monday afternoon pick up will be back to normal on the playground. Please can I take this opportunity to remind you that we do not allow dogs on the school site and if you wait near the gate with a dog, please make sure families have plenty of space to come and go.
It has been a pleasure to see so many of you over the week with our parent meetings and our coffee morning this morning. Thank you to Mrs Dodds for coming in on her day off to support our school community to support Macmillan.
The children all looked smart for their photos this morning and it was great to have so many pre-schoolers in for photos before school.
This week our ECO club has started with the first group of the year. This is our Educating Children Outdoors session which a group of our Year 1s and 2s enjoyed on Thursday.
It was lovely to see the big smiles from the Chafffinch group who visisted Warren Lodge yesterday. They had a great time and it is such an important learning experience for them. Dementia impacts so many of us and we are proud to have such a strong link with Warren lodge. It is a link that brings such joy to the residents and develops the compassion, care and communication of the children.
We are finishing the week with our first football match of the year and although the boys lost, I am delighted to hear that they played really well with a great attitude. Thank you Mr O'Reilly. Next week we have a Year 5 match.
On Monday, Year 6 are going to PGL for a week of adventures. I wish them such a good week and look forward to visiting on Wednesday evening. Thank you to the staff for giving their time and care. I am delighted to see a good forecast.
On Tuesday next week we have our Harvest service. Please can all children be dropped off at the Church Centre at the normal drop off time. We will then walk the children back after the service. The older children will help the younger ones with their bags so please don't worry. We would be grateful if the children could bring a donation for Crowthorne Foodbank.
They are asking for non-perishable items: tinned tomatoes, tinned meat and fish, tinned fruit and vegetables, pulses, small jars of coffee, cereal and porridge.
Cleaning products: Anti-bac spray, washing up liquid and detergent tabs.
Toiletries: Shampoo, conditioner, handwash and deodorants.
If you have any questions, please be in touch and parents are welcome to stay to join us for the service.
I wish you a lovely weekend.
With kind regards
Jacquie Vanstone
