24th October 2025
Good evening,
I wanted to write a short newsletter to thank you for your support this half term. We have had a wonderful 8 weeks, with each week filled with fantastic learning opportunities and experiences.
This week alone our Chaffinch children enjoyed their river trip. The photos looked fantastic and I look forward to reading their recounts. Such trips create memories for a life time. Rosefinch have enjoyed cooking today, Bullfinch have created some beautiful art work for Autumn and I enjoyed seeing the progress they are making in writing. Goldfinch have shone this week in their leadership roles. I have heard and given so many compliments and messages of appreciation. As a whole school, we met Nellie the dog and I think she enjoyed her time with us nearly as much as we enjoyed having her.
Today I met with our Education Welfare Officer. Whilst our school attendance figure is a positive 96.6%, we really hope to see this continue to improve over the next half term. If you ever need support with attendance, we are here to help. We see the difference in both academic progress and emotional wellbeing when families share our high aspiration for attendance. Thank you for your continued support.
After half term we will be launching our new website which I will share with you all. We are excited to be reaching that final point and we look forward to hearing your feedback.
We will be selling poppies and accessories each morning and afternoon for a cash donation. This will begin on our first day back which is the Wednesday as we have two inset days.
I have added a link to the email sent today regarding the opportunity to join some Bohunt students for Dance club over 3 Fridays and we hope lots of the children take part and enjoy it. This is free of charge and open to all year groups, as is our Wellington College homework club on a Wednesday.
Over half term the Rosefinch toilets will be completed along with work on the gutters and roof. NSsport will be running holiday club all week so please use their website to book your child on.
I wish you a lovely break, it has been a long half term!
With kind regards
Jacquie Vanstone
