17th October 2025
Good evening,
I hope you are well. This week has been another packed week, every week seems to be!
Our busiest day has been today, with a football tournament for some of our Year 5 children. They were winning until the last 10 seconds of the last match so they were disappointed on their return to school. We are really proud of them and it was a great experience. Thank you Mr O'Reilly for organising it.
This afternoon Mr Kennington, our Chair of Governors accompanied me, Harley and Clara to celebrate the contribution of one of our governors. Felicity Workman has been a governor at our school for 27 years. She has contributed enormously in that time with her work on SEND, buildings and recruitment to name just a few. Felicity has been a wonderful support to me and we are sad that she has decided the time is right to step down. She was pleased to welcome us to thank her for this fantastic contribution and Clara and Harley represented the school brilliantly. I know Felicity will continue to be part of our school community in the future but it was a pleasure to celebrate her today.
Many of you may have seen the Wokingham online article about our new laptops. We are delighted that the trolley for them was kindly delivered to us by Mr Bosworth and his company today and we are excited to start next half term so well equipped. We are incredibly grateful. This project all started with Alison Wilde, our FOFSA Chair leading the GoFundMe page and I am very grateful for her hard work - what an achievement.
Next week we have a sports fixture for a group of KS1, the river trip for Chaffinch, the last ECO club for the current group and many tours for prospective parents. On Friday, NSsport will be setting up for their holiday club. Please look at their website to book spaces, it looks like a great week.
I wish you a lovely weekend.
With kind regards
Jacquie Vanstone
