12th September 2025
Good afternoon,
We have had a great week in school. It has been lovely to see lots of parents coming into meet the teachers and we hope you found these sessions helpful. On the 24th and 25th September we will be offering an opportunity to meet staff for a 10 minute meeting to discuss how your child is settling in and to reflect on the targets set in their July report. We would like Rosefinch parents to book appointments at the Rosefinch door from Tuesday morning next week. Parents of children in Bullfinch, Chaffinch and Goldfinch should receive an email on Tuesday at 12pm through Parentmail to book appointments.
This week I have attended a Governor meeting as well as a FOFSA AGM and meeting. I feel fortunate to work with such dedicated and hardworking members of our school community and both meetings were full of exciting plans and developments to enhance the learning and facilitiies for our children.
Next week, I will share more information about clubs as our lunchtime clubs begin. We are also making plans for a Bohunt Secondary School led Dance club and a Wellington College led homework club both in school. Further information regarding all clubs will be sent out in an email next week for your information.
It has been a pleasure to see the children enjoying the playground at lunchtime. We are pleased with the changes through our move to a new catering company. The food looks great and the children are enjoying the extensive choices and the quality of the food.
Our Reception children have been so well looked after by their Year 6 buddies. On Thursday Mrs Wirth and I had the pleasure of holding Prefect interviews. We felt proud of them and I thought I would share some of the things they said:
'I want to be efficient and I'll always try to figure things out.'
'I would be a helpful Prefect but even if I wasn't a Prefect, I would always want to help others.'
'I will be calm, steady and set the standard.'
'If we are good role models and the younger children watch us, we are creating Prefects for the future.'
Well done Year 6!
I finish with a thank you to FOFSA for the Preloved sale and cookie sale which raised an fantastic £150 and I wish you all a lovely weekend.
With kind regards
Jacquie Vanstone
