    Good afternoon,

We began the half-term with a spring in our step and such excitement over the sunshine and warmer weather. While it didn't last, we did thoroughly enjoy it and benefit from it!

We have had plenty of sport to enjoy this week.  Thank you to Mrs Metcalfe and Mr O'Reilly for taking some children to a Tag rugby tournament on Thursday. The results look promising to get through to the next round.  Today we had a football match for the boys.  They lost 2-1 but tried their best and had many chances.  I am sure you will join me in thanking Mr O'Reilly for organising and coaching the teams.

World book day is on Thursday and I hope the children are looking forward to dressing up.  At drop off and pick up time, we will have a book sale for the children to purchase some books which we have had donated to us.  We are not collecting books to sell, but please come on Thursday with some money to buy some. All the money will go to school.

We are fortunate to have such an active PTA. The FOFSA committee work so hard for our children.  Today's cookie sale was a sell out and we thank you very much for your support. We have three big projects coming soon (toilet refurbishment, window replacement in School House and the top playground).  We do need to raise money for the small contribution we are required to make.

We had an exciting assembly on Wednesday.  I shared our new top playground design ahead of the Easter work.  The children were keen to support and had lots of fundraising ideas.  One idea some children had for fundraising was for us to organise a Mother's Day breakfast, which we thought was a great idea.  We would therefore like to invite you in for this event on Friday 13th March from 8.40am to 9.30am.  You will be served and celebrated ahead of Mothering Sunday!  Cash donations would be gratefully received, and it would be a lovely opportunity to invite other family members to celebrate them as well. I will share a sign-up form next Friday so we know rough numbers.

I want to thank Ms Bardsley for such an intensive few days trying to sort out the Learning Review meetings.  We are reviewing our use of Parentmail for future bookings. We look forward to seeing you in school next week for the meetings.  There will be books out in classrooms, so you may wish to allow time to have a look at them.  On Tuesday the meetings will take place in the hall. Please enter through the side gate.  On Thursday the meetings will begin in the Barley nest whilst Gymnastics club is on, and then we may choose to move to the hall once it has finished. Please enter through the front white door unless the side gate is open.

I wanted to also remind parents that Bullfinch have a stay and read session on Friday morning at drop off time.

For me this week has been a celebration of writing.  I have seen such determined and proud writers from each class and that includes some of our very youngest Reception children.

We look forward to seeing you next week and thank you for your ongoing support.

    With kind regards
