Good afternoon,
For me, this week has been full of meetings and tours but I have still enjoyed so much time with the children. It was such a privilege to be part of our Harvest service at church on Tuesday. Once again, the children sang beautifully and Reverend Gemma provided valuable reflection on the distribution of food around the world. We were all impressed by the amazing loaf of bread gifted to church by Mrs Metcalfe's mum. Our bible reading was the Feeding of the 5000 which some children proudly read. The loaf of bread, with the delicious soup made by Bullfinch, was enjoyed throughout the school. Thank you to all our families for the harvest gifts; Goldfinch enjoyed loading them up to be taken to Reading.
This was our first church service for Reception and they were brilliant. I felt especially proud of our Year 6 children in church as well as our Reception children. The Year 6 showed dedication, hard work and care towards their buddies which was unwavering. They were role models with their speaking, listening, contribution and singing. I loved to see them pointing to the words as they read them.
Early in the week, Mrs Wirth and I spent time exploring English throughout the school. It has been great to see the progress the children are making and how they are building on previous learning. We look forward to our Learning Review meetings in a couple of weeks and we will be in touch next week with booking instructions.
Next week Wellington College students will be supporting with homework, reading and alongside this will be playing chess and decorating cakes. They are fantastic role models for our children. You can still sign your child up here. If your child stays for the club, please collect them at 4pm.

We finished this week celebrating Hello Yellow. We have seen individuality, confidence, comfort and fun. I hope the day has supported the message of opening up conversations around mental health and we will keep the message going over the year.
I wish you a lovely weekend and as always, thank you for your support.
