Good afternoon
We are ending a great week with a fantastic Sports Day!
This will be a short news update to thank all those involved in all that we have achieved this week!
I will begin with FOFSA and all those who supported our Summer Fete. It was a great success and a fantastic afternoon. So much time, effort and hard work goes into organising it, and we are proud of its success but also for the community it helps to build. I love to see so many families at the fete, including families who have now moved on from our school but keep the support going. Thank you FOFSA for everything you do.
We went straight into a full schedule for our governors on Monday morning. We had some training and discussion on Inclusion, followed by some work on our values. We were delighted to have such a positive response to the values sheet that was sent home, and I hope you had some great discussion about it, we did as governors. The governors spent time in classrooms and were pleased to see the strong engagement throughout the school as well as the impact our new laptops are having. They also met with our School Council, who did a great job of sharing information and asking questions. We were very proud of how confidently they spoke, and I thank Mrs Dodds for leading them. Our governors show such commitment to our school and I hope you were able to speak to them at the end of the day.
Thank you to our Chaffinch families who were able to join us for the Family Learning Event. The children were so excited to share their learning, and they did so with confidence and creativity.
I would like to thank you for the report feedback we have received. Your thanks mean a great deal to the staff and I and we invest a lot of time and love into the reports, so thank you for your thanks and feedback. We have also shared Phonics data (Year 1) and Multiplication results (Year 4) and we are very proud of the children for their super scores. I have read that the Year 6 SATS results may be delayed, so we will share these with parents as soon as they are available.
Today we had our fantastic Sports Day! Thank you, Mr O'Reilly for organising an afternoon to celebrate sport. The Sports captains were brilliant in their leadership roles and the parent support made the afternoon so much easier to organise and run. Well done to our Yellow winning team with captains Teddy and Finn.
On Wednesday next week we will have sport as our focus for our achievement assembly. I have added a link for parents to complete a form for their child to be celebrated in the assembly. This must be completed by Tuesday evening. The children can bring in trophies, medals, certificates, photos etc. to show the school if they wish.

I look forward to sharing with you next Friday the variety of sports our children and staff are engaged in.
I wish you all a lovely weekend.
