Collective worship and our values in action

Pentecost service with a lovely clear message about the value of the Holy Spirit.

It was wonderful to have the opportunity to work with all the children on Friday afternoon as they prepared their bouquets for Mothering Sunday. We thought about the Christian history of the celebration and how it has grown into the day it is now. It was lovely watching the smallest count out just the right number of daffodils, to the biggest who valiantly wrestled their specially prepared paper to make their bouquet 'just so'. No mean feat wrapping flowers in position, but all was done with such love.

Our assemblies have focused on friendship this term. Lovely to see so much support and happiness in school

A joyful Advent Service

Our Christmas jumper and cake sale raised over £70 so we have reached our target to be able to sponsor a toilet in a developing country. We will choose our location with the children over the next few days. Thank you for your generous donations

Remembrance Day at the war memorial.

Remembrance and Hope

We celebrated being back in school with an assembly on our value of HOPE. What are our hopes for ourselves, our friends and our world? We will move on to think about poppies as a sign of hope and peace in our next collective worship. Here are the responses collected at break time. ❤️

Our first whole school run of the term was full of joy. What a wonderful way to start the day.

A peaceful assembly today based on a stilling exercise. Our year 5 children lead it well giving everyone time to think deeply about our blessings and things we'd like to let go .

Transition Day for years 2,3 and 4 was in July , where we played and worked together to get to know each other and to bring more compassion into our world

Democracy is a strong British Value. Our KS2 children put democracy in action ahead of the summer elections as we studied parliament, government and voting. We then held our own elections. Our children all spoke with passion and excitement about issues such as health, education, sport, environment and peace. Well done everyone for taking part.

Space maker class assembly: we thought deeply about the blessings in our lives and then how we can flourish like a beautiful tree. The tree of life helps us to think about how we can be blessed and how we might bless others. We planted our blessings to help our lives bloom ❤️

Mothering Sunday 2024 - celebrating and showing love and appreciation to all the mother figures in our lives.

We welcomed a family of donkeys to school just before Christmas as part of our badge giving ceremony. Each child received a wooden hanging decoration that was personalised for them. - a message of love for each child.

Eco club May 2023: today we made 'plates of wonder'. We enjoyed looking at and talking about all the beautiful things around us. Then we used our imagination and shared what we thought they could have been to a much smaller person...a dandelion clock was a parachute and a speedwell flower was a hat.

Advent service at St James church

Eco club have been thinking about the talents we have and how we are each unique and special. We each found a beautiful place to leave our models.

Each class has shared ideas and prayers for the Queen and her family at this sad time, both in school assembly and at our church.

November 2019 Little Lights | Hope Works | CBC Kids

Working together to give others hope. When a girl notices a lonely light flashing across the lake, she gathers the neighbourhood kids and all the lights they can find, to send back an answer to a boy who needs a friend.
