Good afternoon,
Another week has flown by! It has been such a pleasure to spend time in classes this week as well as spending time with the children at lunchtime.
This week, we introduced our value for the half-term, which is Friendship. Using the poem Footprints in the sand, we have reflected on how we look after each other at times of need. The children understand that actions of care and kindness leave a positive print that can last a long time.
I was grateful to the parents who joined Nigel Kennington, our Chair of governors, and myself for a discussion about our uniform, which the governors will take forward. In addition to this thank you, I wanted to thank the Page family for looking after our guinea pigs over Christmas. The children were delighted to see them back this week. Both guinea pigs returned in brand-new cages, which is such a wonderful gift, thank you.
I wanted to remind parents that homework club on a Wednesday has restarted. This runs every week until 4pm and is a great opportunity for your child to complete homework, tables, spelling and reading. They are supported by the fantastic Wellington College students, which is lovely to see in action.
The communication has gone out regarding the popular FOFSA disco in February. The disco is on Friday 6th February with separate times for KS1 and KS2 children. Tickets are £6 per pupil and can be purchased online at PTA Events on the link below:

We look forward to another busy week next week. Chaffinch class have an exciting Monday afternoon with a visit from a representative from their chosen charity, Water aid. I have also seen a request for junk model materials for Bullfinch if you can help. The children are talking about their new topics with excitement and I look forward to seeing their learning and progress over the coming weeks.
I wish you a lovely weekend.
With kind regards
