17th April 2026

Good afternoon,

It has been lovely to welcome the children back after the Easter holidays.   They were delighted to see the playground work complete.  We are thrilled with the work and staff feel it has already had a positive impact on play and creativity.  We will hold an official opening and a date will follow soon.

The term started with the excitement of a local MP visiting us.  Clive Jones came for a tour of the school and then went into Chaffinch to talk to them and answer their questions.  His visit was prompted by some fantastic letters written and sent to him regarding Water aid, their chosen charity.  Well done Chaffinch for your advocacy.

On Thursday morning, we were delighted to learn that 15 of our 17 Reception places have been offered to Reception children for September 2026.  As we are experiencing such a low birth year, we are so pleased, and we look forward to welcoming our new families soon.  We only have a few spaces left within school in Year 3 and Year 5 but we are keen to fill these places if you know of anyone looking or moving to the area.

On Monday, I will be sending out a letter with information on clubs for the summer term as well as key diary dates.

I hope you all have a great weekend

With kind regards

Jacquie Vanstone
