6th September 2024
Good afternoon,
I would like to welcome you all back to this new school year. We have had a super week.
The staff had the enormous job of returning the school to normal following the building work. We are thrilled with the outcome of this and I want to thank all the staff for their time and dedication. The children have enjoyed our new space and the corridor now leading to Rosefinch is great. We will be opening the new room officially on Thursday 19th September at 2.15pm. We would like to invite you in for an assembly and then the opening as we thank Mr Barley and Nirvana Spa.
It has been a pleasure to welcome our new children this week both Reception children and children who have joined in other year groups. We had a few tears coming into Rosefinch on Wednesday but since then we have had big smiles and confident, happy children learning and playing together. We are very proud of them all and are enjoying getting to know them.
We will be exploring leadership roles next week with the children. We will be encouraging them to embrace opportunities to lead and support in school. The Year 6 children have enjoyed stepping up already and I am delighted by their confidence and enthusiasm.
This week, we have taken the opportunity to remind the children of whole school and class routines and expectations as well as the importance of attendance and readiness for learning.
For parents, I wanted to share a document covering how to communicate with school and how we will communicate with parents. We are keen to work closely with parents and for you to feel involved in your child's learning and in the life of the school. I hope this document is helpful. If you would like a print out, there are some in the office.
I would like to wish you a lovely weekend and I look forward to a full, busy week next week.
With kind regards
Jacquie Vanstone
