Welcome to Finchampstead C of E (Aided) Primary School

This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it

Parent Mail

19th October 2018

Dear Parents,

This has felt like a short half term but we have achieved and enjoyed so much. Last weekend many families joined us for a very successful Grounds day. Mrs Dodds organised it brilliantly and the impact it has had on the school grounds has been fantastic. The table at the top of the playground was rebuilt and Mrs Leen was proud to see how grateful the Rosefinch were. Thank you to everyone for their support and time.

I have spent much time over the last two weeks in all the classrooms. The learning has been a pleasure to see and the behaviour throughout the school enhances this. I am sure you will join me in thanking all the staff for their hard work, dedication and commitment. We have now successfully recruited for the Lunchtime Controller role and look forward to welcoming Mrs Joshi. Mrs Fatania has shown such care for our children over the years and we wish her well for the future.

Today we are sending home an invitation to an Anxiety workshop which will be held at school. This is a great opportunity for us all to learn and ask questions in order to best support our children both now and in the future. I hope that many of you will be able to join us.

The 8 boys who attended the Madejski Football tournament today had a great morning of football; they got through to the quarter finals but lost their last match.

Finally I would like to wish you all a great half term. On returning to school please can you make sure that winter uniform is complete and worn smartly? Girl's hair should be tied back with no large or colourful hair accessories and earrings should be studs. We are looking forward to a busy and successful run up to Christmas and it is important that the children follow the uniform policy and feel the benefits of this.

Have a great half term.

Kind regards

Jacquie Vanstone
